Framed by rugged coastal cliffs and the views over the Black Sea, the 18-hole course par 72 of over 6,500 meters (approx. 7,200 yards), at Thracian Cliffs opened in 2011 is one of the most dramatic golf courses you will see or play. It seems that the cliffs come into play on every hole, so take plenty of golf balls with you!!
Golfers have the tee chosen for them based on handicap (there are 7 sets of tees on each hole), so you should get maximum enjoyment from your round.
It is fair to say that every hole is a signature hole, but the 6th will surely be the one everyone will remember. ¬is hole sits on top of the cliff with the green set some 40 meters below cut into the hillside and surrounded by the lapping waves of the Black Sea. When Gary Player tested this hole out, he played from a tee box which was still just sand, and proceeded to draw a ball into the green from out to sea and then fade one in over the cliffs!!!! At that point, you see clearly why Mr. Player is an iconic figure in the golf world. He is also the most humble and likable person you ever will meet.
