The Summit Green Valley layout, designed by Dennis Griffiths, the same architect who designed Thai Country Club in Bangkok, is one of the best kept in Chiang Mai. Summit Green Valley, located in the lowlands and only 20 minutes from Chiangmai's city centre, manages to provide magnificent surroundings, fresh air, and a variety of native landscaping peculiar to Northern Thailand. The course is lined with hundreds of palm palms, providing beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains.
The fairways, which are surrounded by palm trees, appear to be expansive, yet water hazards and bunkers abound in the landing areas, narrowing the fairways and leaving no room for poor shots. The greens are large and receptive to approach shots, with a moderate to slightly fast putting speed. Green Valley, on the other hand, presents a difficult but fair challenge to golfers of all ability levels due to its length, multiple elevation changes, and prevailing wind.
