The course is similar in appearance to the desert courses of Arizona in the USA in terms of in design and the natural landscape which surrounds it, which is full of 'cardones' a plant similar to the cactus but uniquely indigenous to the Canary Islands.
Salobre Golf Resort is totally integrated into the landscape of the south of the island. Its raised location offers spectacular views of the sea and the mountains, highlighting the contrast between the green of the course and the arid surroundings of the volcanic earth giving the course a unique feel. The installations satisfy even the most demanding player in an area protected from the winds and with only thirty hours of rainfall a year. The layout of the fairways and the green are a challenge to players who will delight in the sheer fun of the course design.
North Golf Course (New Course)
Salobre New is not comparable with the rest of the courses in the Canary Islands. Designed by Ron Kirby to fit into its volcanic rock surroundings, this 18-hole par 68 5,400 meters (approx. 6,000 yards), may appear on the short side but more than makes up for that with its challenging layout.
Capturing the beauty of the south of Gran Canaria it makes it an absolute must for every player who loves a challenge to play Salobre New golf .
South Golf Course (Old Course)
Salobre Old is a par 71 18-hole course of over 5800 meters (approx. 6300 yards) and was designed by Roland Favré in order to best appreciate the typical terraced valleys of the south of Gran Canaria, offering our visitors magnificent views both over the sea and the mountains.
With its varied and enjoyable layout, this is a course that should be on your must play list.
