Salgados Golf Course lies within a coastal nature reserve close to Albuferia.
Salgados Lagoon Nature Reserve links the dunes to the sea perfectly. It is great to walk around this Reserve and take it all in. It is a bird watchers paradise along this stretch of the Portuguese shoreline with all sorts of exotic birds lurking in the ponds, lakes and streams that festoon most of the holes on this course. The Salgados Golf Course is a par 72 6,000 meters (approx. 6,600 yards) and flat which is suited to straight hitters. With the fresh sea breezes that often blow in from the Atlantic it can be quite a challenge to finish with the same ball that you set off with on the first tee. Holes 7, 8 and 15 are among the finest on the course and for the best experience play it from the yellow tee blocks.
