Minthis Golf Club situated in the heart of Paphos wine producing region, just ten minutes outside the town.
The 18-hole course is a beautiful and demanding Par 72 course of 5970 meters (6570 yards)
that winds its way past a 12th-century monastery with breath-taking views of the Troodos Mountains. The course was designed by Donald Steel in 1994 and recently renovated by renowned course designers Mackenzie & Ebert (famed for their work on British Open Championship courses) who believe that golf courses should fit into the landscape and be in keeping with their setting.
The redesigned and enhanced course reopened with new greens that conform to USGA specification in March 2021.
The championship course at Minthis follows the natural undulations of the land past incised ravines and loops past ancient vineyards, olive groves and fruit orchards. It is set 550 meters above sea level and enjoys cool breezes in the summer and a mild winter climate. The opening nine holes is the shorter half of the course, encircling the historic monastery, the back nine holes are all about precision and there is great variety of challenges. The par 3 15th hole has been transformed into a superb island green.
Challenging and memorable it leaves little room for error and an unwary golfer will lose many a ball to the lake that surrounds it.
The newly designed Par 5 10th hole has elevated tees with picture-perfect views. This makes it hard to concentrate on your golf, but a good tee shot is required to clear the valley and find the generous fairway.
It undoubtedly requires some skill and is a hole to remember with one of the best views in Cyprus.
The large modern clubhouse is impressive with great views of the golf course, the perfect place for pre and post-game drinks.
