Golf de Pals was designed by Fred W. Hawtree. It opened in 1966 and was built in a large pine forest next to the Playa de Pals beach. Golf de Pals is an 18-hole par 73 of over 6,200 meters (approx. 6,800 yards) woodland course suitable for all types of player. Over its 50 years of history, numerous professional and amateur national and European tournaments have been played there. Golf de Pals hosted The Spanish Open in 1972 which was won by Antonio Garrido.
There are five par-5 holes on the card. For the first holes of Pals golf course you don’t need your driver as they are quite short You will be confronted with narrow fairways, doglegs, deep bunkers protecting the greens, oh and hundred-year-old pine trees lining the fairways!! As you guessed, they require high precision play from the off. From the 12th hole, the holes are longer and with a more continental style. The fairways get wider and the greens are more generous.
