History
The origins of the course can be traced back to the 1920s and are tied to the British royal family, particularly Princess Beatrice of Battenberg, who spent part of the year in the region and was a major factor behind its establishment. Under the technical guidance of Harry Shapland Colt, development on the first 9-hole course began in 1925. (builder of Wentworth).
It was enlarged to 18 holes under the guidance and design of renowned British architect Tom Simpson (designer of such notable courses as Turnberry, Muirfield, and Ballybunion) (6173 m, par 72). Miguel ngel Jiménez of Málaga has the course record, which he set at the 1999 PGA Turespaa Masters.
