Thai Takenaka designed the 27-hole Crystal Bay Golf Resort course, which first opened for play in 1988 as Natural Park Resort. It was owned and operated by the Legacy golf group of businesses from 2010 until 2016. The Pattaya golf course is now a standalone golf resort 45 minutes outside of Pattaya and 1.5 hours outside of Bangkok. Crystal Bay is a mid-tier Pattaya golf course with a 'Hawaiian' style design with palm tree-lined holes. The golf course in Pattaya is a simple 27-hole layout with three nine-hole loops that vary in elevation and hazards.
The course features a combination of designed fairways and links-style holes. Water is everywhere, usually along the fairways, however certain canals do need a carry onto the green. Bunkers play a crucial part in determining the outcome of the game, necessitating the use of precise strokes.
