World-renowned course architect Dave Thomas designed the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Championship Golf Course, creating a challenging test of golfing skill for the expert golfer, but also remaining an enjoyable course for the recreational player.
Designed in 2001, the golf course has matured quickly in rank and reputation, hosting the 2004 and 2007 Euro Pro Tour and the 2007 & 2008 European Challenge Tour.
Its status as one of Scotland's finest courses has grown over the years, so much so that it attracts golfers from all over the world to compete at Cardrona.
The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel Golf & Spa also recognises the environmental significance of the surroundings and have taken steps to protect the wildlife. As a result, the golf complex has been awarded the Scottish Award for Environmental Excellence in Golf.
