The Canyon Course at Blue Canyon Country Club was the first 18-hole layout, and it sprang to renown when it was chosen as the site of the 1994 Johnnie Walker Classic. The same tournament has been held twice since then, with Tiger Woods winning in 1998. Blue Canyon, a world championship golf course, is consistently ranked among Thailand's top golf courses.
The course, which is set in an abandoned tin mine, has ancient strip mine features all over it. Streams running through rust-colored water, gorges with vertical cliffs revealing red and white tin ore-laden rock, and tailings from old mining operations are just a few of the many reminders of a bygone period.
