Location: 10 kilometers west of Hua Hin
Black Mountain, which is about 25 minutes west of Hua Hin, was turned from lush jungle and pineapple fields. The Hua Hin golf course, set in a valley surrounded by massive black granite rock covered mountains, hosted Asian PGA Tour events in 2009 and 2010 as well as the Europe vs Asia match play Royal Trophy in 2011. Black Mountain was named one of the top 100 golf courses outside of the United States by Golf Digest magazine in 2012 and every year since. The Thailand Classic, the first European Tour event to be held in Thailand, was held at Black Mountain in 2014. The Thailand Classic, which was hosted in 2015 and 2016 as well, has established itself as a prominent stop on the European and Asian Tours.
The golf course is designed to appear as natural as possible, with many original elements remaining. The little creeks that run through Black Mountain, as well as the rocks used as design elements on several of the holes, are the most important of them. The old trees have been preserved, and many new ones have been planted. Many of the holes are framed by meandering creeks with spillways enabling carts to pass through.
