Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort is in one of the most exclusive areas in the south of Spain overlooking Gibraltar. Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort is a par 72 6,100 meters (approx. 6,700 yards) and is considered the only links-type golf course in the south of Spain. Its 18 holes have spectacular views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and on a clear day North Africa.
Opened in 1992 and designed by Peter Ellis and Clive Clark, the course’s terrain is shaped by gentle slopes that descend towards the sea. The majority of the course’s holes border onto almost 2 km long beautiful beaches. The strong costal winds have the greatest impact on the difficulty of the course.
Alcaidesa’s new 18-hole course was designed by prestigious former Ryder Cup golfer Dave Thomas. The Heathland course, a par 72 of 6,300 meters (approx. 6,900 yards), offers players a variety of challenges, from a flat plateau (holes 1 to 5, 17 and 18), with spectacular views over the Mediterranean and a valley area with a more typical Spanish feel in which the holes meander along the valley incorporating various water hazards.
