The Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club & Resort, which opened in 1996 and is located about 40 minutes north of town, is one of the first modern-day golf courses in Chiang Mai. The course is suitable for both amateur and professional golfers. The profusion of greenery and mature trees on the golf course, while remaining in tune with the natural backdrop and undulating terrain, is its most remarkable characteristic. Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club & Resort is a course of natural beauty that combines waterfalls, streams, and an abundance of landscaping. It is set within a valley and surrounded by mountains. The Chiangmai golf course was built on the site of a former fruit orchard, and as a result, it features one of the most diverse landscapes in Thailand.
